25 Mar New Executive Director
We are excited to announce that Jason Camis will be the new Executive Director of Sertoma, Inc. and Hearing Charities of America® (HCOA). Jason is a long-time resident within the Kansas City area and its surrounding communities who will begin his new role on Monday, May 2, 2022.
Jason is originally from the Detroit area. He obtained his bachelor’s degree from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, MI and a master’s degree from Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. He holds a certification from the Institute for Organization Management (IOM) from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce.
He comes to us from the Gardner Chamber of Commerce where he served for more than seven years as the President and CEO. While there, he was responsible for a broad range of successful initiatives, including relationship building within the business community, increasing membership and attendance at annual events, and reviewing internal operations to provide long-term stability to the chamber. Jason has a strong background in board/staff development and management, budgeting, volunteer recruitment and engagement, partnership management and cultivation, marketing, program development and oversight, and strategic planning. In addition to his role at the Chamber, he has served as the Board Chair for United Way of Miami County, held numerous leadership roles within Rotary and other community organizations, and currently serves as a Vice President for the Kindertransport Association (KTA).
“I’m excited about the opportunity to lead Sertoma, working with the board and members across the U.S. and Canada to continue serving our communities. I have a passion for service to community and have seen first-hand the impact that high-functioning service clubs can have. I’m looking forward to learning more about Sertoma and Hearing Charities of America and how we can advance the mission of both organizations in the future.”
In his spare time, Jason enjoys spending time with his wife Molly, daughters Gabriella (15) and Luciana (9), and the eleven chickens that roam his yard in rural Kansas. He co-owns a brewery and loves travel, food (particularly all things bacon), and playing basketball.
